Linking to "past life"

Knowing that there is only the here and now, in his book Masters of Limitation, Bashar speaks of a process of "linking to a "past life"" as an opportunity he chose to do in order to understand the human civilization more completely (my understanding of his description). I highly resonated with this process he referred to and immediately thought of it as melding, mind meld or consciousness meld rather than "linking". Has Elan referenced this process? Does anyone have any information to add in order to further my understanding of this process? It feels as if I AM personally experiencing this process and I am exploring it further by following my highest excitement to do so. ♾️
